Period

The period of a trigonometric function is the horizontal length of one complete cycle before the pattern repeats. For $y=a\sin bx$ or $y=a\cos bx$, the period is $\frac{360^\circ}{b}$ in degrees or $\frac{2\pi}{b}$ in radians, while $y=a\tan bx$ repeats every $\frac{180^\circ}{b}$.
