Factorial

A factorial, written n!n!, is the product of all positive integers from 11 up to nn; for example 5!=5×4×3×2×1=1205!=5\times4\times3\times2\times1=120. By definition 0!=10!=1.

Factorials count the number of ways to arrange nn distinct objects in a row and appear in permutation and combination formulas.
