The codomain is the set within which all outputs of a function are declared to lie, before we check which values are actually reached. It is stated when the function is defined, and the range is always a subset of it.

You meet Codomain in the Functions chapter of SPM Additional Mathematics. Knowing the term precisely matters in the exam: questions often hinge on reading a keyword correctly, and because SPM marking is analytic, using the right definition in your working helps secure method marks.
