Heron's Formula

Heron's formula finds the area of a triangle from its three side lengths alone, without needing an angle or height. With semi-perimeter s=a+b+c2s=\frac{a+b+c}{2}, the area is s(sa)(sb)(sc)\sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}.

It is handy when only the sides are given.
