Frequently asked questions

What exactly do you offer?

Online, one-to-one SPM Additional Mathematics (Add Math, code 3472) tutoring for Form 4 and Form 5 students anywhere in Malaysia. Lessons are taught in English over a shared screen; the SPM papers themselves are set bilingually in Bahasa Melayu and English.

Who are the teachers?

Every teacher is experienced. Rig teaches Add Math himself (8 years’ experience); Mr Vic brings 7 years.

You always know who is teaching your child.

How much does it cost, and is the trial free?

Lessons are from RM50 an hour, varying by the teacher’s experience, quoted exactly on WhatsApp. The first lesson is a one-hour paid class at the teacher’s rate, it is a paid trial, not a free one.

How do we start?

Message us on WhatsApp with your child’s form (F4 or F5), target grade and exam year. We reply the same day with a suitable teacher and the exact rate for a one-hour paid trial.

How is SPM Add Math examined?

Two written papers: Paper 1 (2 hours, 80 marks) and Paper 2 (2 hours 30 minutes, 100 marks). There is no Paper 3, and a non-programmable scientific calculator is allowed.

Marking is analytic, you earn marks for correct method and working, not only the final answer.

Does every student have to take Add Math?

No, Add Math is an elective. It is commonly required by many schools and institutions for pure-science streams and pathways like matriculation, engineering, actuarial science and economics, but policies vary, so check with the school.

Lessons are in English, what if my child studies in Malay or Chinese?

That is fine and common. Because the SPM paper is bilingual, we teach in English but cover the key terms of each chapter in both languages where it helps, so a student who learned earlier maths in Malay or Mandarin is never thrown by the wording of a question.

Do you promise a particular grade?

We focus on steady, visible progress: finding the exact gaps costing marks and teaching straight to them, one-to-one, so your child earns more method marks and grows in confidence. We are honest that no tutor can promise a final grade, outcomes depend on the student’s effort, and we would rather earn your trust than make a claim we cannot stand behind.

Which areas do you cover?

Because we teach online, we reach students in every state and federal territory of Malaysia, no travel, and the same experienced teacher wherever you are.

When is the SPM Add Math exam?

The exact SPM dates are set by Lembaga Peperiksaan (LP) and announced each year. We never guess the date, our countdown tool shows “to be confirmed by LP” until LP publishes it.
